We (me, Sharon, Rachel, Jeanne, & Kathy (poor Charles was out with the flu)) split off from the rest of the Walk Team and stayed in San Francisco to do our 22-miler. I was a little nervous about "suddenly" walking 22 miles after 2 weeks of ZERO training (the flu - ugh!); but we really pulled together as a team, and we all finished.

It took us 6 hours, 45 minutes. In actuality, I think we walked 23.5 miles in 6 hours. Because it was a VERY cold day (I mean, even I -- the "naked one" -- was wearing a jacket), we didn't sweat (perspire, glow) very much and had to make 6 or so bathroom stops along the way.

We walked around Lake Merced twice, then to & through Golden Gate Park (to McLaren Lodge) and back. We walked through every possible micro-climate from rain to fog to wind to sunshine. A very strange weather day. But we all knew that Jeanne had brought us heavenly Cokes to enjoy at the end of our arduous journey, so we stayed motivated! Thank you, Jeanne! :)

After Sharon dropped me off at home, I took a long epsom salt soak, an even longer shower, and got dressed to go watch the Big Game with John & Mike. On our way to Kezar Pub, I realized that my feet stopped working, so I hobbled along beside John. And, of course, the game wasn't even worth watching. Uhhhh...we sucked big-time, and they didn't even show "the play". Oh well, there's always next year. Boooo Stanford! That's right, Ben & Ard! :) hee hee.
