John & I hooked up with our buddies, Rosalia, Marco, Glenn, et al, for "Run to the Far Side", a 5K or 10K run to benefit the California Academy of Sciences. Everyone did the 10K run, except Rosalia and me. We did the 5K walk.

Since Rosalia & I started at the back of the 12,000+ pack, it took us 16 minutes to do our first mile, i.e. we were moving at a snail's pace. (Honolulu will be 3 times worse, since there will be around 35,000 participants. Yikes!)

A little past the half-way mark for the 5K, Rosalia gave me the thumbs up to run ahead. I contemplated doing the 10K, but it was already 35 minutes into the race, and I didn't want to hold the others up, so I just finished the 5K.

Ironically, John & I mistakenly wore each other's bibs, so I'm listed as running the 10K in 49:55 minutes (148th for all women, and 10th for women in my age category (20-29)). Am I a stud or what?!? :) hee hee. Hmmmm, perhaps I'll "mistakenly" wear John's bib for the Honolulu marathon. Devious, aren't I?
